Xtralis’ VESDA and ICAM Products Receive Important China Approval
Both Xtralis’ VESDA and ICAM range of aspirating smoke detectors (ASDs) have met the demanding requirements of new China National Standard GB15631-2008 for Special Type Fire Detectors.
As of January 2010, both VESDA and ICAM products are compliant with GB15631-2008, which specifies the requirements, test methods and performance criteria for high-sensitivity ASDs for use in fire detection and fire alarm systems installed in buildings. This requirement has been mandatory since May 1, 2009, and for the first time introduces stringent performance requirements and classifications for special type fire detectors.
Testing of the Xtralis VESDA and ICAM range was carried out by National Supervision and Test Center for Fire Electronic Product Quality in Shenyang.
Xtralis is the first company to certify its broad range of ASDs to meet this stringent new China national standard.
